Ha a normál SC2 sportabroncsból született, akkor az SC2 Rain természetesen egy túraabroncs adaptációja. Ha pedig túraabroncs, akkor a legjobb döntés volt a legújabb túramintázatát leképeznie a Bridgestone-nak, a T31-et. A normál SC2-höz képest magasabb mintázottsági arányt vehetünk észre, melynek természetesen fő célja a nedvesség elvezetése. A jobb nedves tapadáshoz a magas szilika arány is hozzájárul a középrészben, mely a hűvösebb napokon is jó segítség lehet a kigyorsításokhoz és biztonságos tapadáshoz.

A Bridgestone elérte a célját a két különböző mintázattal, az SC1-hez képest az SC2 jelentős javulást mutat száraz tapadásban, az SC2 Rain pedig nedves tapadásban, mindezt úgy, hogy futásteljesítményben egyik sem múlja alul az elődöt.

2018-tól mindkét mintázat elérhető, némileg különböző méretpalettával, hiszen az SC2 Rain az SC2-vel ellentétben nem lesz elérhető 14-es első gumival (120/70R14), csak a megszokott 120/70R15-ös elsővel, míg hátsó tekintetében is van minimális eltérés, amellett, hogy a 160/60R14-es és 160/60R15-ös hátsó mindkét mintázatból elérhető lesz, az SC2 Rain még büszkélkedhet egy 130/70R16-os hátsóval is.
