Bridgestone Battlax S23 tesztMegtekintések: 1507



Egy kicsit sem túlzok amikor azt állítom, hogy életem egyik legkülönlegesebb helyszínén vettem részt egy gumiabroncs gyártó új termékének hivatalos bemutatótesztjén. A termék, vagy a tesztelési lehetőség milyensége szempontjából azonban kevés relevanciával bír, ezért erről nem teszek túl sok említést a továbbiakban, de az időpont és a helyszín igencsak meglepő volt. December 1. Dél-afrikai Köztársaság.

A teszt helyszínül szolgáló Kyalami Grand Prix versenypálya talán leginkább a Forma 1-es múltjáról ismeretes, de gyorsasági motorsportos kapcsolódása is volt a 2000-es évek környékén, amikor a World Superbike sorozat naptárában szerepelt versenyhelyszínként. Azóta leginkább helyi kupasorozatoknak ad otthont, tehát nem említhető kifejezetten gyorsasági motoros fellegvárként. Az időjárás viszont kedvező volt december elején, hiszen 28-30 fok körül mozgott a nappali hőmérséklet, kevés széllel. A pálya aszfaltja és általános minősége némileg elmarad az európában felkapott, és jelenleg is komoly sorozatoknak helyet biztosító versenypályákétól, ez azonban utcai gumi tesztelésére kifejezetten jó lehetőséget biztosított. Egyes helyeken például rendesen „hupplis” volt a burkolat, valószínűleg jelen formájában nem is lenne alkalmas arra, hogy visszatérjen a WSBK sorozata. A közút azonban ennél is lényegesen több meglepetést tartogat rendszerint számunkra, a kanyarokban érkező váratlan útegyenetlenségre nyújtott reakciója pedig fontos jellemzője egy abroncsnak, és itt ezt is kitudtuk próbálni.

Na de térjünk át a főszereplőre ami nem más mint a Bridgestone Battlax S szériájának ötödik generációja az S23. A hypersport szegmensben mutatott fejlődési íve igencsak stabilnak mondható a gyártónak. Ha a múltban oly kevés pozitív tapasztalattal társítható Bt016 mintázat, vagy még inkább az áttörést jelentő Bt016 Pro mintázatot tekintjük kezdőpontnak, akkor az S23-ig egy lineárisan növekvő egyenes vonallal tudnánk összekötni a fejlődési jelleggörbét, amire szépen illeszkednének a köztes modellek úgy mint az S20, S21, és S22 modellverziók. Ezt azért is tudom ennyire biztosan, mert a Bt016-tól kezdve végig motoroztam az összest. Illendő lenne megőriznem a márkafüggetlenségemet a kérdésben, de az igazság az, hogy a privát életben a saját motorjaimon, is legtöbbször Bridgestone gumikat használok. Legyen az utcai, vagy pályamotor. Ezért is örültem kifejezetten a tesztlehetőségnek. Ha valami bevált, akkor mindig nehéz elképzelni, hogy mégis miben tud többet nyújtani a tovább fejlesztett modell, és ezúttal is ez a kérdés motoszkált leginkább a fejemben a 14 órás repülő úton.



Maga a rendezvény három napos volt, viszont a szakmai rész, amiről érdemes beszámolnom csak egy napot érintett, amikor a Kyalamin teszteltünk. A reggeli órák a szokásos technikai prezentációval kezdődtek, amiről pici hiányérzettel tudok mesélni. Nem volt sokkal mélyebb tartalommal ellátva mint egy gyártói brossúra amit megtalálhatunk a hivatalos oldalon. Meghallgattuk, hogy mik azok a jellemzők amikben továbbfejlesztették az új terméket, és egy pókhálódiagrammon ábrázolták mely jellemzőkben milyen mértékű előrelépést sikerült tenni. Az alap jellemzők ilyenkor amiket vizsgálnak, a stabilitás egyenesben, stabilitás a kanyarokban, külön szempont a kanyarban nyújtott stabilitás maximális dőlésszög mellett, a kezelhetőség, és a nedves úton nyújtott tapadás, kezelhetőség, stabilitás, és fékút. Mielőtt kibontotta volna a technikai részleteket az előadó volt egy kis félelmem a látottak kapcsán, hiszen az az abroncs aminek nő a futásteljesítménye és javul a nedves tapadása, az többnyire kémiáját tekintve egy szilika adalékkal jobban dúsított futófelületi keverék. A szilika adalék ugyanis javítja a felület rugalmasságát, amit egyfelől kitolja a kopásállóságot, másrészt az útfelületen lévő nedvességet a zártabb szerkezete miatt kevésbé képes magába fogadni, sokkal inkább belekényszeríti a mintacsatornákba, így hatékonyabban tartja fent az érintkezést az aszfalttal. Ez azonban rendszerint nem tesz jót a száraz tapadásnak, mivel rugalmasabb és zártabb felület nehezebben alakít ki újra tapadást az aszfaltfelülettel egy megcsúszást követő kritikus helyzetben. Az igazán sportos motorozásnak viszont jellemzői az apró „slip”-ek amiket talán nem is mindig érez a motoros. Szerencsére nem ez történt, sőt az S23 futófelületi keveréke még több szén alapú lágyítót tartalmaz, ami viszont épp a versenygumik jellemzője. Miután véget ért a prezentáció, a pálya mellett mindenkinek volt lehetősége a fejlesztésben résztvevő mérnököktől szabadon kérdezni. Ez nagyon kellett ahhoz, hogy összeálljon a kép. 



Azt csinálta ugyanis a Bridgestone mérnökgárda, hogy alapul vette a V02 slick abroncsok karkasz szerkezetét, és egy eddigieknél merevebb vázat adott az S23-nak ami korábban kevésbé volt jellemző az utcai modelljeire. Ezzel érték el azt, hogy az új modell lényegesen nagyobb stabilitást képes adni, főleg a kanyarokban, még inkább a gyors kanyarokban, a maximális dőlésszög mellett pedig kiugróan jobb az eredmény. Ezt ráadásul a Kyalamin tökéletesen tudtuk tesztelni, ugyanis a pálya a vonalvezetésének köszönhetően kifejezetten gyors, és „stop and go” jellegű kanyar szinte egyáltalán nincs benne. Rettenetesen élvezetes volt például a Sunset nevű 6-os kanyart 4-ik 5-ik sebességi fokozatban lábtartót szikráztatva fordulni. Közben a kormányt finoman fogva gyönyörűen érezhető volt a motor elejének minden apró rezgése, és tökéletesen pontosan lehetett végig vinni az egész hosszú ívet, ahogy a pálya kissé elindult közben lefelé. Ezek voltak azok a pillanatok, amikor hajlamos voltam elfelejteni, hogy nem a Bridgestone slickekkel szerelt saját motoromon ülök (persze az alacsony lábtartó azért figyelmeztetett). Visszatérve a futásteljesítmény terén várható javulásra, ezt is megértettem, hogy nem egy keményebb, nem egy másként adalékolt keverék, hanem egy merevebb vázszerkezet ami kitolja a határokat. A kevesebb torzulás a gördülés során ugyanis kisebb hőterhelést jelent (belső hőképződés), ami jótékony hatással van a kopásállóságra. A mintázat kialakítása is enyhén rásegít erre a hatásra, mivel a középső részen kevésbé tagolt. Összességében tehát az abroncs sportos jellemzőit szem előtt tartva sikerült futásteljesítményt növelni. Az érem másik oldala, hogy az S23 egy kevésbé komfortos, az útirányból érkező hibákat kevésbé toleráló szerkezetű abroncs lett. A motor futóművének teljesítménye így a fontosságát tekintve nagyon előre lép, hogy megfelelő legyen a harmónia. Továbbá az útminőség is kritikus lehet. A Kyalami „hupplis” kanyarjai erre jól rávilágítottak. A nagy dőlésszög, és az úthibák nem voltak épp a legkedvezőbb együtt állás. Öt különböző motorral tudtam menni, és minden motor futóműve kicsit másképp kezelte ezeket a helyzeteket. Röviden összefoglalva a gumi rengeteget tud, de motor is kell hozzá (főleg ami a futóművet illeti). A nap végén volt is egy olyan érzésem, hogy a motorgumi gyártók most előztek egy nagyot, és a jelenlegi teljesítményhez, még egy utcai gumi esetében is rendesen kapaszkodni kell a motorgyártóknak. Pedig évekig azt hangoztattuk, hogy mekkora meló áll a motorgumi gyártók előtt, hogy a mai teljesítményszintet és komplex elektronikai csomagokat kiszolgálják.




Amit nem szabad kihagynom a beszámolóból az az S23 futófelületének mintázata, és annak elemzése, mivel erősen meghatározó az abroncs karaktere és tudása szempontjából. Azt már tudjuk, hogy a vázszerkezet és némileg a keverék is a versenygumiktól jön, ami viszont sokkal meglepőbb, hogy a mintázat a túra-sport szegmensből érkezett. Egészen pontosan a Bridgestone T32 mintázatának sportosabb megvalósulását látjuk. Kockázatos lépés, mivel az S23 nem lett feltétlenül szebb mint az elődje, még a katanát imitáló segéd minták is lekerültek. Az új minta hatékonysága viszont megkérdőjelezhetetlen. Egy sport guminál nem feltétlenül elsődleges szempont a nedves tapadás, de a biztonság, és a komplex felhasználási mód lehetősége adott kell, hogy legyen ebben a kategóriában is. A nedves tapadás egyfelől kémia kérdése, másrészt viszont mintázati kialakítás. A Bridgestone mérnökgárda ezúttal a mintázat kialakításával oldotta meg első sorban, hogy elérjék a kötelezően elvárt szintet a nedvestapadás terén, sőt ennél még többet is, hiszen az S23 mintegy 4%-al jobb köridőre képes nedves aszfalton (szemben az S22-vel) a Bridgestone belső tesztjei alapján. De mi is az a Pulse Groove, és hogyan működik? A Bridgestone által szabadalmaztatott mintázat egy változó szélességű mintacsatornát jelent, ami a csatornába belépő víz áramlási sebességét képes felgyorsítani azáltal, hogy venturi hatást kelt. Az áramlás gyorsításával egységnyi idő alatt több nedvességet képes kiszorítani, ami végső soron azt eredményezi, hogy az abroncs érintkezési felülete hatékonyabban tartja fent a kontaktot az aszfalttal, csökken a felúszás veszélye, nő a tapadás, nő a stabilitás mértéke vizes útburkolaton. Amit pedig nyerünk emellett, hogy mindez arányaiban kevesebb negatív mintával, tehát több slick felülettel megoldható. Ez azt jelenti, hogy úgy javult a nedves tapadás, hogy közben nemhogy nem romlott, de még javult is a száraz tapadás a magasabb slick aránynak köszönhetően. Zseniális nem?



A nedves tapadást ugyan nem volt lehetőségünk Afrikában tesztelni, minden egyéb tulajdonságát viszont élesben próbára tehettük az új S23 hypersport guminak. Ráadásul karakterében eltérő motorokon, így nem lehetett hiányérzetünk. A nehezebb és kényelmesen puha futóművel rendelkező motorokkal is tök jó volt krúzolni a pályán, és az élesebb futóművel rendelkező könnyű gépeket is nagyon szépen lehetett dobálni a kanyarokban. A szűk keresztmetszet inkább az „olcsónak” mondható futóműveknél jelentkezett a motor súlyától függetlenül, mivel a merev abroncs szerkezet miatt a csillapítások milyensége erősen meghatározta az élményt.

Minden rendezvény után, amikor már letisztul bennem a kép, és képes vagyok összegezve látni az átélt eseményeket megmarad egy gondolat, amivel jól meghatározható az amit tapasztaltam. A Bridgestone Battlax S23 modell bemutatója után úgy tudom leírni ezt a gondolatot, hogy a motorgumigyártás a maga rohamos fejlesztési ütemével együtt, mostanra ott tart, hogy a piacon elérhető új motorok egy része tulajdonképpen nem is képes kihasználni a bennük rejlő potenciált. Ez pedig szerintem az elmúlt 10 év legnagyobb fordulata. Most már motor kell a gumihoz, és nem pedig fordítva.
